HOw to think about Quick Culverts

Quick Culverts are not directly comparable to pipe classes.

They are engineered and certified as a complete precast structure designed to meet required load and

performance conditions for culvert applications.

Traditional Pipes/BOX CULVERTS

  • Classified by pipe class (Class 2, 3, 4)

  • Multiple joints

  • Higher blockage risk

  • Requires in-situ concrete

  • Longer installed time

PADMAN QUICK CULVERTS

  • Engineered as a complete structure

  • One-piece design (reduced joints)

  • Open flow, self-cleaning profile

  • No in-concrete required

  • Installed in hours, not days

✔ Used in the same applications as box culverts

✔ Designed for real-world load conditions

✔ Proven in council and water authority projects

HOW Quick Culverts COMPARE

Flow rates are estimates only and apply when the culvert is fully submerged.
Erosion in most soils occurs between 0.6 and 1m/s water velocity, 0.8m/s is used to estimate flow rates.
Higher water velocities through culverts necessitate appropriate erosion control measures.
